Hi, I’m Jamie, owner and creator of Art Party.

I’m passionate about creativity. I believe it’s one of the greatest gifts we can nurture in ourselves and in our children. 

Which is why I’m invested in the the power of process art! It is a no-pressure, go-with-the-flow and see-where-it-takes-you approach to creating. Studies have shown that it strengthens cognitive, social and emotional health. It focuses on the process not the outcome. It encourages curiosity and individuality. It’s not about being the best artist, it’s about being your best self.

I created Art Party as an antidote to the pressures of wanting to do things “right.” A place that encourages you to take your time and find your unique voice. A place that is fun and a place that fosters creative freedom. I am committed to nurturing creativity from a place of ease. I believe this method is an investment in our well being no matter our age or where we are in our lives.

From my days as a child spending hours at my own art table (my dad made it for me out of two file cabinets and an old door) to creating and running art programs (ages preK-8th) to my time in Hollywood working with A-list celebrities, to writing -- my work has been published in The NY Times, LA Times as well as off-broadway -- creativity is always at the helm. The same is true when I'm cooking (get to know me well enough and I’ll make you a frittata and hot sauce), building (I’ve hung drywall), problem solving (I’ve put out literal and figurative fires), or my most important job ever – being a mother. Creativity has always been my North star.

Last year, my husband, our daughter, and I took a true creative leap — we packed up our things and hit the road in search of the perfect place to raise our daughter. We drove 10,500 miles across this great country. We took our time and met incredible people along the way – but it wasn’t until we landed here that we knew we were finally home. We created space for the process to reveal itself and in doing so we found a community that is truly remarkable. We are so grateful to be here.

The power of process art is real. It allows us to trust and expand. But really the best way to understand it is to roll up your sleeves, and come get messy with us!
